İYTE-ESE will be represented again in the 2020 edition of TÜBİTAK-British Council Bilateral Cooperation Programme

Dr. Güray Yıldız has succeeded in taking part in one of the 8 projects (out of >200) that will be funded within the framework of bilateral cooperation between TÜBİTAK and The British Council (UK).

The project entitled “BioPlasma – Integration of biomass gasification with plasma-catalytic tar reforming for clean hydrogen production” is a collaborative research project funded by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy together with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and delivered by the British Council. This is a joint research project where Ege University, Izmir Institute of Technology and University of Liverpool (UK) will collaborate.

The project team is composed of Prof. Jale Yanik (PI) from the Department of Chemistry of Ege University (TR), Asst. Prof. Güray Yıldız (expert researcher) from the Department of Energy Systems Engineering of Izmir Institute of Technology (TR) and Prof. Xin Tu from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Liverpool University (UK).

Within the scope of the project, two graduate students enrolled in IZTECH Energy Systems Engineering Graduate Program will be hired as junior researchers in 2021 and 2022. 

The Turkish team of the project was accepted and congratulated by the Rector of Ege University Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak.

Dr. Güray Yıldız, is currently working as the PI of the project entitled “FuelPlas – A sustainable and innovative thermochemical approach for producing hydrocarbon fuels from unrecycled plastic waste in Turkey”, that is being funded in the frame of the 2019 edition of the TÜBİTAK-British Council Bilateral Cooperation Programme.
