Vacancy: Graduate students for the TÜBİTAK-British Council project at IZTECH-ESE
The Department of Energy Systems Engineering of Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) is looking to appoint highly motivated Turkish or international MSc Students on a fixed term project entitled “A sustainable and innovative thermochemical approach for producing hydrocarbon fuels from unrecycled plastic waste in Turkey”, funded by the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and delivered by the British Council. This is a joint research project with The Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI) of Aston University (UK).
The successful candidates are expected to perform applied research in the Laboratory for Thermochemical Conversion Technologies (LTCT) at IZTECH, take active role in the development of an innovative catalytic pyrolysis process to convert waste plastic to fuels and generate a master thesis.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Energy Systems Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering or related subject, be highly motivated to conduct high quality applied research, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The scholarship will be available for two students with a duration of 18 months for each. Applicants already registered in a graduate program are welcome to apply.
