The second “Biomass Energy in the Green Transformation: Sustainability from Natural Resources to the Economy-II” training program, supported under the TÜBİTAK 2237-A Scientific Training Activities Support Program, will be held at Ege University Biomass Energy Systems and Technologies Application and Research Center (BESTMER) on October 21-23, 2026.

The program will address the fundamental concepts of biomass energy, characterization of biomass feedstocks, production processes, technological developments, and research and development activities. It will also cover the current status of biomass energy in Türkiye and worldwide, energy policies, sustainability, smart specialization, and carbon footprint. In addition to theoretical and practical sessions, the program will include laboratory activities and a technical visit.

Eligible applicants include associate degree graduates and undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as academics, researchers, and representatives of public- and private-sector organizations. The travel, accommodation, and meal expenses of selected participants coming from outside İzmir will be covered within the scope of the project.
