Internships
Undergraduate students of the Department of Energy Systems Engineering are obliged to perform two internships (i.e. “Office Internship” and “Facility Internship”) that will last at least 40 working days during the summer period followed by the end of the 4th and 6th semesters, respectively.

OFFICE INTERNSHIP
Based on the related regulations of the Institute, Energy Systems Engineering undergraduate students are required to perform an internship for at least 20 working days in the summer period (by the end of the 4th semester). Students must perform their internships in the offices of related enterprises operating in the field of energy and employing at least 1 expert in this field. The meaning of office internship is that at least 15 days of 20 working days should be spent on tasks to be assigned in the office. Internships are graded over a non-credit course with the code of ESE300 that will assigned in the following semesters.
FACILITY INTERNSHIP
Based on the related regulations of the Institute, Energy Systems Engineering third-year undergraduate students who have successfully completed the ESE 300 Office internship are required to perform an internship for at least 20 working days following the end of the 6th semester). The internship should be performed in energy production facilities employing at least 1 expert. Facility internship means that the student should spend at least 15 working days in the production/generation facilities (field work) of the related company. Internships are graded over a non-credit course with the code of ESE400 that will assigned in the following semesters.
It is especially recommended for our students to choose the companies that they can participate in the field work and that will enable them to obtain information and gain practice. The companies to be selected may be within or outside the province of Izmir.
