2017-2018 Fall Semester Courses

In 2017-2106 Fall Semester, there will be two courses that will be given by the Department of Energy Systems Engineering Energy academics within the M.Sc. in Energy Engineering Programme

ENE580 SPECIAL TOPICS IN ENERGY ENGINEERING (ENERJI MUHENDISLIGINDE OZEL KONULAR)
Objectives of the Course:
The content of this course has been designed to make ready the student for the higher courses ENE511 and ENE512. It is recommended to be taken if the student has no background on wind energy. The goal is to create clear view about the wind energy and its applications for the student.

Course Content:
This course includes the history and near future of wind energy, the status of wind energy in turkey and around the globe, basic information about sub-topics of wind energy (i) meteorology (ii) aerodynamics and (iii) control. The content is supported with a site visit. The course gives knowledge and understanding on wind turbine peripherals/sections such as blades, rotor, gearbox, generator, brakes, nacelle, tower, grid connection and wind measurements. The course has parallel structure and content with the ENE510 PRINCIPLES OF WIND ENERGY SYSTEMS course.

ENE556 ENERGY ENGINEERING WORKSHOP (ENERJI MUHENDISLIGI CALISMASI)
Objectives of the Course:
To teach general knowledge of principles of wind, solar, geothermal, bio energies and energy strategy subject will also be studies. The major aim is to connect different renewable energy source with technical background.

Course Content:
The course will have 7 weeks of lectures, 2 sites visits and presentations on different topics made by the student groups.
